Huge boom in online bingo shows no signs of slowing
A recent report has revealed that more and more people are turning to online bingo than ever before, possibly as a result of the recession causing people to stay in and seek entertainment instead. Bingo has always been a very popular activity, but over recent years, bingo halls have struggled to keep up with high taxation rates and falling attendances. However, with better computers, faster Internet speeds and around 400 UKbingo sites to choose from, the boom in online bingo shows no signs of slowing down.
What's more, the average age of players is falling. In the past, bingo has been seen as an occupation for the more mature person, but in recent years, the average age has fallen dramatically. New, younger players are lured by glamorous marketing campaigns, huge cash prizes and the no deposit bonus. Free bingo is also on offer from most bingo sites, giving potential players the opportunity to ‘try before they buy’. Online bingo is becoming increasingly popular with men as well, with some sites set up to cater specifically for the male market.
With the social aspect of online bingo, i.e. the chat rooms, bringing people together, it is clear that the online bingo phenomenon is here to stay. And what’s more, it’s still very young, having only been around for 15 years or so. What could the next 15 years possibly hold for the world's most popular numbers game? We can only wait and see.
